Macro lens is suitable for photographing when the shortest photographing distance is very short. It can be said it is suitable for Soratama however there might be problems depending on the focal distance. For example, you need to extend the Soratama Extension Tube when the 90mm macro lens is fixed. Otherwise the size of the ball in the picture gets too big. When using Soratama, lenses from wide‐angle to standard are preferable.
The “macro mode” or the “super macro mode” on your compact digital camera can also be said suitable for Soratama as long as the shortest photographing distance is very short. However, the inside of the tube might get reflected on the picture if you do not get close enough to the object even when you photograph in a macro mode. In this case, we recommend to trim the picture afterwards or use a close-up ring.
