Do I also have to buy “Soratama Extension Tube” ?

Posted on 2014年11月29日2022年4月20日 by admin

If this is your first time to purchase “Soratama Lensball Filter” please buy the “Soratama Extension Tube” as well. The extension tube enables you adjust the length by 5mm until it hits 55mm. These products are basically a set. The reason why “Soratama Lensball Filter” has a 20mm extension tube on is to protect from breaking when transporting.

I cannot focus on the target

Posted on 2014年11月29日2022年4月20日 by admin

Please see “Photographing with Soratama” for information. Here are tips to focus on the target using Soratama. (1) Set to manual focus. (it does not mean manual exposure) (2) Try to focus on the nearest object. (3) After taking the step (2) above, try to move the Soratama lens back and forth until it is focused. If you fix the extension tube 72, try to see if it can be focused with the auto focus mode.

The camera tube gets too long if I focus on the target

Posted on 2014年11月29日2014年12月29日 by admin

If you were using telephoto lens, the focal distance will get long. Please try using wide angle or standard lens. Also, the wide angle side of the zoom lens can also do.

Inside of the tube gets reflected

Posted on 2014年11月29日2014年12月29日 by admin

There are cases that inside of the camera tube gets reflected on the picture and the corners get dark. In those cases, please shorten the camera tube until the corners do not get dark or extend the focal distance. If you cannot bring it into focus after shortning the camera tube, please try to extend the close-up ring. If you cannot take the steps above, please trim the image with an editing software.

The soratama ball gets too big

Posted on 2014年11月29日2014年12月29日 by admin

If the soratama ball gets reflected too big, please try to extend the extension tube or shorten the focal length. (If you are using zoom lens, try to zoom in widest angle side.) When you cannot bring into focus after extending the extension tube, please try to shorten the close-up lens.

Can’t I use the close-up lens?

Posted on 2014年11月29日2014年12月29日 by admin

You can use the close-up lens. However, the extension tube might get too long if you use the extension tube. The extension tube is made of metal and it is pretty heavy. For this, if it gets too long, there is a possibility of damaging the lens. If you are using the handmade soratama with paper made camera tube, it is okay to use the close-up lens.
